The standard package will give you an intermediate-level solution with tables that are properly linked with relationships, and with good functional scripting within the scope of Filemaker-supplied script functions. Remember that each instance of the Filemaker scripts has its limitation within certain usage, i.e. WebDirect, Server Side, and so forth.
The advanced package will give you a fully functional database with the proper tables and structure with proper relationships. With the scripting that will make everything work.
